Three realtors who know your neighborhood.

Marigold Home Co. is small on purpose. Small enough to know every client. Small enough that Maggie, David, or Jane picks up when you call. Fourteen years in, that's still the whole plan.

Where Marigold comes from.

"I wanted a firm where I'd send my own family. That's the only test that ever mattered to me."

— Maggie Kowalski, Founder

Marigold Home Co. was started in 2011 out of a small storefront on Maple Row, by a realtor who'd spent twelve years watching big-brokerage clients get lost in the shuffle. The idea was simple: build a firm small enough that every client would work with a senior agent, from the first showing to the closing paperwork.

Fourteen years later, that's still exactly how it runs. Three agents, one office, one shared calendar. Every client is assigned to Maggie, David, or Jane on day one, and stays with that agent through the whole process. No handoffs, no rotations, no junior staff you've never met showing up at the closing.

We work almost entirely from referrals—which means we can afford to say no to clients who aren't a good fit, and yes to the ones we can genuinely help. Some months we close five houses. Some months we close twelve. We don't chase volume. We chase the right match.

The neighborhoods we serve—Highland Park, Riverside, Millbrook, West End—are all within a fifteen-minute drive of our office. We walk them, we know the schools, we know which streets flood in April, and we know which listings are worth chasing before they hit the market.

That's the whole pitch. A small firm that actually pays attention.

The three who'll actually pick up.

Each of us works with roughly 15 clients at a time. That's the cap, on purpose. It's what lets us do the work the way we want to.

Maggie Kowalski

Founder · Managing Broker

Maggie started Marigold in 2011 after twelve years at a national brokerage. She's licensed in three states and has closed over 200 homes personally. She spends most days in Highland Park and Millbrook, where she knows just about every seller's agent and half the neighbors on any given street.

When she's not in a house, she's usually gardening (badly) or convincing her kids to help her repaint the trim on her own house (also badly).

David Reyes

Senior Agent

David joined Marigold in 2019 after five years running his own boutique agency in Riverside. He specializes in first-time buyers and starter homes—the kind of client who needs someone patient enough to explain escrow twice, and honest enough to say "wait a month, that house isn't right" when it isn't.

He's closed 60+ homes in Riverside and West End since joining. Fluent in English and Spanish.

Jane Thao

Agent · Listings Specialist

Jane runs our listing side. She has a photographer's eye and a marketer's brain—the combination that's gotten our sellers an average of 3.8% over asking for two years running. If you're the one selling, Jane is the one you want writing your listing.

Former graphic designer, current homeowner, weekend potter, dedicated coffee snob.

How we work

Four promises.

Not slogans. The actual commitments every Marigold client gets.

01

One agent, start to finish.

You get one of us on day one, and that person handles you through closing. No handoffs, no team hierarchy, no unfamiliar faces at the signing table.

02

Honest pricing, always.

We'll tell you when a house is overpriced, when a seller is going to counter high, and when to walk away. That's why our clients come back.

03

Neighborhood knowledge you can actually use.

We know which streets flood, which schools are worth the tax bracket, and which fixer-uppers are diamonds vs. money pits. Fourteen years of walking these blocks.

04

We work by referral, on purpose.

80% of our business is repeat and referral. We'd rather do great work for 100 families this year than mediocre work for 500.
